Our Story
Running for God’s Kingdom
December marks the 4th year since our first Bible Run! In 2018, small town vegetable farmers, Owen & Jess were asked to join a ministry team headed into the African bush to equip rural villagers with Bibles and to teach composting. It was there they realized the overwhelming need for Bibles and that the Bread of Life was more valued than bread itself. It was clear that they were being called to equip their brothers and sisters with a copy of His word.
Upon returning home from Kenya, the Sweitzers felt the need to be mobile was required to answer this call. Knowing that God would equip those whom He called, the Sweitzers began to redirect everything in their lives towards this calling. Within a month, Owen returned to Africa, only this time to Uganda to give Bibles at a Discipleship Training. After hearing the content of the training, what was meant to be a quick "Bible Run" and blessing others with the Word of God, Owen was blessed with insight from the Holy Spirit and the training became the framework for Project Bible Runners.
Within six months of their first run to Africa, the Sweitzer’s sold their farm in pursuit of how they could equip faithful followers of Jesus with Bibles. In 2019, Project Bible Runners was formed in dedication to blessing others with their own copies of God's Word. God continues to bless the work as each year more waiting believers are receiving their sword. As PBR grows, they are overwhelmed by the prayers, encouragement and financial support from you - our brothers and sisters around the world.
